Connecting the Dots: Reframing Aging Across the Age-Friendly Ecosystem

Includes a Live Web Event on 07/22/2026 at 2:00 PM (EDT)

Communication is the cornerstone of age-friendly ecosystem work, yet it is often treated as an afterthought rather than a strategic priority. Leaders across sectors are building age-friendly ecosystems — essential collaborations that span health systems, public health, cities and communities, home- and community-based services, universities, and workplaces to deliver collective impact for older people.

These efforts are gaining momentum, and how we talk about aging at every stage, from design to implementation, matters. Age-inclusive communication allows us to fully live out our commitments to age inclusion. The principles for reframing aging are a throughline that threads through every part of the ecosystem, giving us the opportunity to unearth and address the assumptions embedded in our institutions and to build a foundation that enables cross-sector collaboration.

Healthcare leaders play a pivotal role in this work. Health systems are anchor institutions in our communities, and the way we communicate about aging — with patients, care teams, and community partners — shapes our ecosystem. Additionally, rural health leaders are uniquely positioned to lead, reaching some of the most underserved populations in the country at a moment of unprecedented federal investment in long-term rural health transformation.

This webinar explores how reframing aging strengthens multi-sector collaboration, with a focused lens on how the principles are reflected in healthcare settings. Hear from practitioners applying these strategies in their work and come away with practical tools to embed age-inclusive communication as a shared priority across your age-friendly work.
